UWC 6 Capital Punishment posted on 04/23/2009

UWC 6 is this Saturday and the Warcorpse wants you all to watch it! It will be streaming live on Sherdog.com for FREE! The card is headlined by the UWC Bantamweight Title Fight between Mike Easton and Josh Ferguson. Other fights on the card Include Rashad Woods taking on War Machine in the 175 pound division. The two time National Muay Thai Champ Jose "The Pistol" Villarisco will try MMA again when he fights Mikey "The Burque Bulldog" Lovato for a good mid-card fight and the event opens with Kris "Savage" McCray in a fight against Ronnie Wuest. 8 fights in all.

Like i said the event will be streaming live on Sherdog.com and it's a great chance to see up and coming fighters. At their skill level they are some good prospects for the UFC down the road. Especially Kris McCray the only one of them I've seen This guy has a bright future in MMA at the moment. He's mauled through all the amatures he fought and the two pro fights. And  Mike Easton will be in the WEC sooner rather then later.

Anderson Silva's Title Fight what a crock posted on 04/21/2009

Now the first thing that I want to say is that I don't blame Anderson Silva for the debacle at UFC 97. It really wasn't his fault and I have to give credit to Chuck for coming to his defense. However on a whole UFC 97's card for the most part stunk.

For me personally the night was tainted by the fact that it's a real possibility that it was Chuck Liddell's last fight. As much as I hate to see the Iceman go I hope he doesnt stick around so long that he wrecks his legacy. That paled in comparison to the Main Event. Thales Leites vs Anderson Silva when this fight happened I wasn't expecting anything just a good fight. Those hopes died when in the first ninety seconds NO ONE THREW A SINGLE PUNCH. That was both of there's fault. Then it went on to get worse with each on going round of Leites constantly going to the ground. Every time that Silva would try and get close Leites would go to his back. It was honestly painful to watch. It was boring and just a bad fight.

Tank Abbott another detrement to MMA's future posted on 04/13/2009

David "Tank" Abbott the grey breaded warrior as some call him. We all remeber him from the early days of MMA and in the early days of the UFC. I'm going back to about 1996 to about 98. Tank had a name for himself. Could knock out anyone with those heavy hands. Of course durning this time period it wasn't true MMA it was more style vs style. I think just his whole look. I mean the guy looks like a badass got his fame going then in 1998 Tank Abbott signs with the WCW and becomes a professinal wrestler. Really helping out the sport that helped him get where he is today. So he stays in the WCW till it's fall all the while MMA evolved into what it currently is.

So in 2003 he comes back to the UFC and has done nothing to improve is style or martial arts or sub. He's going with the same bar-room brawling that worked so well in the past. Well the rest of the roster in the UFC continued to evolve and get better. Tank was murdered in the first round every fight. So then he quits and fights off and on for the next couple of years picking up only one win in 2005. Has one fight in Pride and Strike and loses both of them horribly. In 2007 he takes on Gary Turner in Cage Rage and gets soundly beat in the first again. Then came the event that might as well been put on by the WWE.

Ken Shamrock MMA founder, pioneer, embarrassment and wash-up posted on 04/10/2009

Ken Shamrock a name that's synonymous with MMA. A fighter at UFC 1 back when it was style vs. style. He lost in the semi-finals to the legend Royce Gracie. A few years later he'd fight Royce again to a draw at UFC 5 at that time an unheard of end for a Gracie fight. Shamrock leaves the UFC in 1996 to go fight in Pride. At the end of 2002 which I'll call his peak or at least before he started desecrating the sport that made him a household name his record was 20-7-2. He came back at UFC 40 to start his feud with Tito Ortiz. They had three fights Shamrock one none of them. In fact Kimo is the only guy he beat from 2/24/02 till 2/13/09.

During the seven years Ken repeatedly continued to make a joke out of himself and the sport. Not just with his stupid hot head antics which is really unbecoming any martial artist but with the fights he took. Like with Robert Berry a guy that's not even in the top 1000 fighters. Anyone ever heard of Robert "Buzz" Berry I haven't all his fights are in Cage Rage. Guess what he beat him to with a first round KO. So UFC take a look at Robert Berry I mean he beat a man you put in your HALL OF FAME!!! that should ensure him at least 2 or 3 fights in the octagon. I'm not even going to write about that crock of bull**** that EliteXC tired to pull with him and Kimbo. For the sport's sake thank whatever God you believe in the fight was called off.

Ed Herman what a disappointment for everyone who watched the third season of the The Ultimate Fighter posted on 04/09/2009

Ed Herman, does everyone remember when we first seen him on the Third season of the Ultimate Fighter. Kept saying the whole season that he was the best fighter in the house and that how the whole MW division better look out because Short Fuse is coming. Remember how we waited all season to finally see him fight in the last prelim fight. I often replay the memory of where all the other fighters were partying with Ken Shamrock and Ed Herman really wants to drink the night before his FIGHT! Fortunately Ken stopped him. Well backing up what he said Ed did mow down his first two opponents and made it to the finals. In the Finals he met Kendall Grove in the Octagon. Both of them gave the fans on hell of a fight but in the end Herman lost a decision to Grove. Not to worry Dana White gave Herman a contract of his very own. That seems to happen alot even with fighters that don't  make it anywhere near the finals.
